Ms. Claypool at the board

This is my second year teaching at Burlingame and in general. I graduated form ESU Spring '23 with my Bachelors of Science in Education with a focus on Mathematics. I currently reside in Topeka with my Fiance, Levi, and our two pets, Franklin and Ozzie. When I'm not teaching I enjoy crocheting, reading, and playing board games.

What's going on in Math?

Students measuring shadow of another student.

It's important that our students apply what they are learning in class to projects, it helps to deepen their understanding of the subject. Pictured above are just some of the ways students were able to do that.

Trigonometry students practiced the properties of similar triangles to find the height of tall object around our campus just by measuring its shadow.

Algebra 1 students applied quadratics to predict where an object would land using their mini catapults.

Geometry students created clinometers, tools used to measure angles, and utilized their knowledge of tangent to estimate the height of objects around our campus.
