ORCHESTRA CAMP Dates: July 25th, 26th, 27th
Times:
Beginners with no experience: 2-3 PM; open to all interested beginners in 4th-12th grades.
Parents are encouraged to attend the first meeting if possible.
Experienced Students (either at Burlingame or elsewhere) 4-5 PM; open to all students in 5th-12th who have previously played violin. Students in this group will have the opportunity to play the cello in addition to the violin if interested.
Purchase, rental, and limited scholarships are available for those who do not yet have a violin.
Please see below for an opportunity for purchasing a violin as well as books, rosin, etc. There are reasonably priced, good quality student violins that can be purchased online for as low as $200. Please see Ms. Noll for more information.

We are excited to share with you KEEP – the Kansas Education Enrichment Program which provides students from income-qualifying households a $1,000 to spend on eligible goods and services that promote learning and facilitate academic enrichment opportunities. Families are invited to apply for these funds at www.keep.ks.gov. There is no cost to apply or participate in the program, and parents and guardians can enroll multiple students in the household. Current income guidelines can be found on the KEEP website. Families can spend the funds with Qualified Education Service Providers in the online KEEP Marketplace. Approved goods and services include: Camps with academic subjects, Language classes, Instrument and Vocal lessons, including instrument purchase or rental. Tutoring Services. and Curriculum materials, school supplies, and technology. Families that receive awards can manage their funds through the KEEP app, available in apps stores for both Android and IOS. The program is provided by the State of Kansas and funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. We encourage you to visit www.keep.ks.gov to learn more about the program and apply today.

Students who wish to purchase extra milk or extra entrees will need to keep a healthy balance in their lunch account in order to cover such purchases. These items will be charged to each student's lunch account and should be prepaid to the school office. Parents/guardians will be notified if the lunch account is low in funds.
Grades K-2 snack milks will be $.50 per milk. They are not free so please send money accordingly.

Congratulations to Juliunna Shinn for being chosen as the Overall Winner in the Kansas Housing Development statewide “WHAT DOES HOME MEAN TO ME?” Art contest!
She will be attending a reception with elected representatives at the State Capitol Building on June 26th where she will be awarded a prize and a certificate of recognition.
Her artwork will be prominently displayed in the Kansas State Capitol Rotunda for two weeks from Monday, June 26 – Friday, July 7, 2023, as well as at the 2023 Kansas Housing Conference in August.
